Obituary for Carolyn Potts Flock
Carolyn Potts Flock, 91, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11:11 am. She was born to the late Raymond and Helen (Rukes) Kerr in Bridgeton, IN on December 9, 1931. She graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1949. Carolyn married the late Willard Potts on August 19, 1950 in Brazil, IN. She was involved with Hearthstone Ensemble, Northern Notes, PEO, Circle, and volunteered at the White Cross. She was a member of St. Joe United Methodist Church. Carolyn loved crossword puzzles, was an avid Purdue basketball fan, she was tech savvy and enjoyed Facebook, Snapchat, and Words with Friends.
Carolyn is survived by her children, Becky Madison, Randy (Pam) Potts, and Peggy (Bruce Hamilton) Redmond; daughter-in-law, Clara Potts; grandchildren, Casey (Erv) Walter, Ben (Neely) Potts, Kelly (John) VanPatten, Nick (Bri) Potts, Ryan (Ashley) Potts, Corey (Lindsey) Potts, James Redmond, Michael (Anabeth) Redmond, Daniel Madison; eight great-grandchildren with one on the way; three nephews; one niece; former sons-in-law, Dino Redmond and Steve Madison; and many friends. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Thomas Flock; son, Jeff Potts; grandchildren, Emily Redmond and Christopher Potts; one brother and two sisters.
Funeral service will be on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 11:00 am at St. Joe United Methodist Church (6004 Reed Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46835) with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825). Burial will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PEO International Chapter BZ or donor’s choice.
