Obituary for Carol Ann Schuman

Carol Ann Schuman, 85, passed away Thursday, December 10, 2020. Born in Toledo, Ohio, Carol was the daughter of the late Theodore and Pearl Schuman. Carol moved to Michigan with her parents due to her fathers career with Champion Sparkplugs in Detroit, Michigan. Carol earned her bachelors degree from Fort Wayne Bible College, after graduation Carol then remained in Fort Wayne. Carol then worked for the Social Security Administration for 25 years, retiring in 1995. She was a 30 year member of First Missionary Church. She served on the Women’s Bowling Association board of directors for 20 years. She enjoyed bowling, watching and attending sporting events and cheering for IU Basketball, Detroit Tiger and the Detroit Lions. Carol had such a loving heart that she made so many friends over the years and touched so many lives in her community. Carol's yearly Christmas cards will be missed. Surviving are her nieces and nephews, Jack (Christine) Reynaert, Ted and Ray Cruthchield, and Jan (Larry) Chulock, Shirley (Dennis) McDermott, John Schuman, Howard Schuman Jr., Denise Kovac, Robert Erney, Jacqueline Duncan, Laura Spisak; extended family members, Bonnie DeCamp, Jon (Stacey) DeCamp, Gary DeCamp, Jeff (Denise) DeCamp, and grandsons, Nicholas DeCamp and Zach Robbins. Carol was preceded in death by her siblings, Evelyn Crutchfield, Florence Reynaert, and Howard Schuman. A Celebration of Carol’s Life will be 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at First Missionary Church. Calling with be at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Monday, January 11, 2021 from 3 pm to 7 pm. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
