Carl E. Donley, 81, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022. Born in Ligonier, Indiana Carl was a son of the late Kenneth and Eva (Hoffman) Donley. He graduated from Albion Jefferson, class of 1959. He worked as a switchman for Norfolk Southern for 39 years prior to his retirement. Carl loved playing any card game especially euchre. He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, shooting, cutting his grass, collecting many items, including pocket knives and antique glassware. Carl loved horses, traveling to horse pulls, and watching horse racing. For many years, Carl created hundreds of Christmas Bird House ornaments and would give them to close family and friends. Carl is survived by his sons, Christopher Donley, Craig (Jalene) Donley; grandchildren, Megan (Bryan) Hossman, and Grace Donley. Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Charleen Kay Donley; daughter, Colleen Olinger; siblings, Larry Donley, and Rosemary Hill. Service is 11 am, Saturday, November 12, 2022 at FairHaven Funeral, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the funeral home on Friday, November 11, 2022 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Burial in Orange Cemetery, Rome City, Indiana. Memorials may be made to Adams Heritage.
