Obituary for Bonnie Virginia DeCamp (Goeglein)

Bonnie Virginia DeCamp, 79, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2020. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bonnie was the daughter of the late Robert Goeglein and Kathryn (Kloepper) Goeglein- Bruick. She graduated from New Haven High School. Bonnie served as a cook at St. Peter’s Lutheran grade school for 8 years. She also worked for Goeglein’s Reception Hall, prior to her work at Potlatch-Tetra-Pack, where she retired. She was a life member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Bonnie was extremely competitive. She played baseball in high school for the Fort Wayne City Jr. Daisies. She had a hole in one at Noble Hawk Golf Course and won the City Ladies Doubles Bowling Tournament. Bonnie had so many friends. She was an exceptional person who was always welcoming of everyone she met. She had treasured friendships with many people all the way from the first grade. On a perfect day Bonnie would be playing a round of golf, bowling with her friends, cooking dinner for her friends and family, hosting card parties. She was an outstanding mother and grandmother to her family. Surviving are her children, Jon (Stacey) DeCamp, Gary DeCamp, Jeff (Denise) DeCamp; grandson, Nicholas DeCamp and Zach Robbins; nieces and nephews; Kathy (Jack) Keylon, Susan (Marty) Keylon, Cheryl Goeglein, Jennifer Goeglein, Jeannette (Chris) Bariel, Paul (Jacquie) Packer, Sheree (Larry) Tegel, David (Kelly) Packer and extended family member Miles Friend from Troy, MT. Bonnie was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Goeglein, and her best friend, Carol Schuman. Service is 2 pm, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd, with calling one hour prior. Calling also at the church on Monday, January 11, 2021 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Burial will be in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Bonnie always said, "I will live and die on the Maysville Road." Bonnie was right. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
