Bernard N. “Barney” Conrad, 95, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born in Terre Haute, Indiana, Barney was the son of the late Joseph and Letitia Conrad. Barney worked in the funeral industry for many years. He worked for Terre Haute First National Bank for many years until his retirement. Barney was a member of the Elks Lodge # 762 in Brazil, and a Shriner in Terre Haute. He enjoyed woodworking, building, watching football, farming, and animals. Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Wanda Conrad, children, Jayne (Gary) Kehoe, John “Andy” (Frances) Conrad, Mary Elizabeth (Doug) Hiatt, Joanie (Larry) Dunn; grandchildren, Nicole (Jim) Markle, Cherie “Buster” Hiatt, Ashley Dunn, Nolan Dunn; five great-grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews. Barney was preceded in death by his siblings. Mass of Christian Ressurection is 10:30 am, Saturday, August 17, 2019 at St. Anne Home Retirement Community Chapel, with calling one hour prior. Memorials may be made to the Clay County Humane Society. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
