Anita Howard-Helgeson, age 64, of Columbia City passed away Thursday, July 14th, 2022 at her home. She was born in Harlan, KY to the late Bronson and Bessie Ann Howard. Anita worked as a waitress with Don Hall's Factory for over 40 years and also managed Beamers Sport Club. More recently she was the owner and operator of Dupont Shell and Pleasant Lake Marathon Gas Stations. Anita loved to dance, had a contagious laugh, and always enjoyed the company of her friends. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Tim Helgeson of Columbia City, IN; and leaves behind her dogs, Cooper and Max. Anita was also preceded in death by her dogs, Jr and Copper. Service is 10:30 am, Saturday, July 23, 2022 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St., with one hour prior. Calling also 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, July 22, 2022 at the funeral home. Burial at Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Whitley County Animal Shelter.
